This flagship delivers same day full text access to over 50 of the most influential Russian daily and weekly editions. The sophisticated search mechanism enables complex querying and global searching across all newspapers within the database, as well as within individual titles and issues. Each day some 900-1000 new articles are added to the database. Includes 1.5 million articles, with archives dating back to 1980.
Regional Newspapers (UDB-REG) Covers a large variety of editions from diverse geographic areas such as the enclave of Kaliningrad, Vladivostok in the Far East, troubled Chechnya and northern Caucasus, oil rich Siberia, plus local Moscow and St. Petersburg editions, for a total of 82 newspapers from 7 federal districts of Russian Federation. Newspapers selected have the largest circulation in their regions and are considered as most authoritative. Ukrainian Publications (UDB-UKR) The world's first database of newspapers and magazines of Ukraine includes several dozen publicationsin Ukrainian, Russian, and English. They cover a broad range of political, economic, and cultural affairs of Ukraine, its progress along the reform path, views and positions of various political forces, changes in legislation, problems of ethnic relations, and tendencies in the development of the armed forces. The database also includes news wire reports and other products of Ukrainian news agencies. CIS and Baltic Periodicals (UDB-CIS) The Universal Database of CIS and Baltic Newspapers includes 24 authoritative periodicals published in the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union. The sources are in Russian and in English, and cover various issues of domestic and international importance. AP-Blitz, an information agency, offers its daily news line Tajikistan News in Brief. Another important publication from the same region is The Times of Central Asia, a business weekly published in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkmenistan are represented with official newspapers while Ukraine, Moldova and Latvia are represented with the most popular business titles. Also included in UDB-CIS are newspapers from Lithuania, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
