Collection of documents from a section of the World Council of Churches Archives, dealing with
Germany and fifteen other countries during the period 1932-1957. Documents include:
newspapers, press clippings, press releases, telegrams, correspondence, minutes, manuscripts
and personal notes. The bulk of the material relates to Germany and covers the issues and
events of the war as well as the beginning years of the World Council of Churches.
Correspondents include: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Bishop Bell, H. Schönveld, Karl Barth, James
McDonald, Georges Casalis, Adolf Freudenberg, Martin Niemöller, Bishop Dibelius, Gerhart
Riegner, Marc Boegner, and Willem Aldolf Visser 't Hooft.
