The Moscow State University Herbarium (MW) possesses a unique collection of world flora that once belonged to Jacob Friedrich Ehrhart. Ehrhart was a very successful and productive botanist, whose collections in the MW are thought to be the largest in the world. During his life he described over 400 plant species. The majority of his collections was created under the supervision of Ehrhart's teacher and friend, C. Linnaeus.
