Fielding-Druce Herbarium. Department of Plant Sciences, Oxford University. Oxford.
This herbarium consists of three separate and distinct collections. The first collection contains
specimens in the herbarium of The Synopsis. Mostly British plants. Each specimen can be
referred (by page number and paragraph) to corresponding entries in the third edition of Ray's
Synopsis. The second collection consists of the specimens which he used to illustrate his
work, the "Hortus Elthamensis". Mostly succulent plants. The third collection is considered to be
the most important. It consists of specimens of the Historia Muscorum which were used to
illustrate Dillenius book of that name. Rich on mosses.
