At one time, Hebrew-language journals formed a very small proportion of all Jewish journals. In recent years the Hebrew press has climbed to second place (after English), and quantitatively represents more than a quarter of all the Jewish papers in all languages. This leap forward is ascribable to the fact that Palestine, and later the State of Israel, became the centre of Hebrew journalism.
Over the years IDC Publishers has collected an impressive number of Hebrew newspapers and periodicals on microfilm and microfiche.
