The C.B. Trinius graminae herbarium represents Trinius' personal grass herbarium, which was donated to the Imperial Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, in 1841, and later inherited by the Komarov Botanical Institute. In this unique collection there are a total of 3,281 folders and about 10,700 sheets. Roughly ten percent of the sheets contain types, often with original drawings used for illustrations in Trinius' publications. The collection has been maintained as a unit, and has been little disturbed by curation, or addition of material after Trinius' death in 1844.
