Art Sales Catalogues, 1600-1900

 

Order Background Specifications Sections

IDC Publishers has the intention to film as many art sales catalogues from the period 1600 to 1900 as possible. As a result, the microfiche collection will grow substantially in the near future.

Part 1 (1600-1825), composed of catalogues from Volume 1 of the Répertoire, comprises 11,065 art sales catalogues. The 5,472 filmed items represent 4,732 different Lugt numbers and 259 items not listed in the Répertoire.

Part 2 (1826-1860), composed of catalogues from Volume 2 of the Répertoire, comprises 8,090 arts sales catalogues. The 8,121 filmed items represent 7,010 Lugt numbers and 136 items not listed in the Répertoire.

Part 3 (1861-1880) is based on (the first section of) Volume 3 of the Répertoire. The 5,655 art sales catalogues represent 4,614 different Lugt numbers and 153 items not listed in the Répertoire.

Part 4 (1881-1900) is based on (the second section of) Volume 3 of the Répertoire. The 8,885 art sales catalogues represent 6,664 different Lugt numbers and 227 items not listed in the Répertoire.

More than one copy of certain catalogues has been included due to different annotations or translated editions.

Guide
Printed guide for each part of the collection, with a correlation table (Lugt numbers and microfiche numbers) and listings with detailed descriptions for the art sales catalogues not included in Lugt's bibliography.

IDC Publishers has also created an online editon of Lugt's Répertoire (59,896 records), that includes references to the microfiche editions. All buyers of complete parts of the Art Sales Catalogs microfiche collection will obtain access to Lugt online free of charge.
